The project of an urban refitting at
1080 Molenbeek-St-Jean, Brussels.
The project
provides a stage of sport, a subway station, a parkingspot for 200
cars, as well as equipments for education and information.
The concept
of this public and social urban unit falls under a search for transparency
as for the (de)monstration of an effective, usefull and contemporary
technology. The surrounding urban fabrics made up primarily of residential
small islands is oxygenated by the presence of this new active pole.
The ventilated and ludic character of this complex arranges around
the curved space structures with open and/or glazed sky and an omnipresent
vegetation. The volume of the stage is formed starting from two
steel ellipses. Those allow a total absence of intermediate supports
in order to optimize the global vision on the action of the play.
Constructive logic governed thus the totality of this place whose
environment comes primarily from the structural intersections and
its cuttings of shades and lights.
