Biographie TSCHUMI Bernard :

Bernard Tschumi est né en 1944 à Lausanne, Suisse et vit à New York et à Paris.  Il a la nationalité françaises et suisses et est un résidant permanent des Etats-Unis.  Tschumi a étudié à Paris et à l'institut de la technologie fédéral (ETH) à Zurich en Suisse, dont il a reçu son diplome en 1969.  Il a enseigné à l'Association Architecturale à Londres (1970-79), l'institut pour l'architecture et les études urbaines à New York (1976), l’université de Princeton (1976 et 1980) et à ‘Cooper Union’ (1981-3).  Depuis 1988 il est doyen de la ‘Graduate School of Architecture’ , de la planification et de la conservation à ‘Columbia University’ à New York.  Tschumi est un membre du Collège International de Philosophie et, en tant que destinataire des honneurs distingués, est Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur et Officier dans l’ordre des arts et Lettres en France.  Il a été reconpensé par le Grand Prix national d'Architecture de France en 1996, la médaille royale de Victoria reçu de l'Angleterre ainsi que par l'institut américain des architectes et de la dotation nationale pour les arts.  Tschumi est un membre de l'institut américain des architectes et de l’ordre des Architectes en France, et est autorisé à pratiquer dans l'état de New York ainsi que dans l'ensemble de l'Europe.
